Linux for PlayStation 2 VU Coding Contest 2003 Entries
Release: Thursday 24th July, 2003
==============================================================

This package contains the VU Coding Contest entries for the 2003 Linux
for PlayStation 2 VU Coding Contest. This contest was open for amateurs,
and we also invited professionals to submit something if they wanted to join
in the fun.

Previous demos from other competitions can be downloaded from
http://playstation2-linux.com/projects/vudemocontest

We're maintaining a "compendium" of all demos which should be available from
this project.

The object of the competition is to create the most graphically impressive
and unique demo program using only the 16K of instruction memory and 16K of
data memory of the EE Vector Unit 1.

The deadline was midnight GMT on Monday 21st July 2003.

We received 10 entries, two of which were sent to us even though they had
missed the deadline - we still want to include them in the release.
An 11th entry (plasmastunnel) was submitted by a pro. PS2 developer.

The winner was "VU Nightmare!" by Jonathan Hobson ("Kazan")
2nd place was "Plasmaroids 2", by Ben Tayler ("bjt)
3rd place was "Bubble", by Fabian Roth ("fin")

Commendation also goes to the intro of "The Winds", the beginning of "Lit Spinner",
and "Maxdemon".

Well done to everybody who submitted an entry :)
